Paul Jewell has offered Luke Hyam a new one-year deal as a ‘reward’ for the midfielders hard work.
The Ipswich Town boss made the offer to Hyam after he impressed against Blackpool just over a week ago on his return to the Town first-team.
“Luke Hyam deserves a lot credit I think, as he’s worked really hard recently,” Jewell told the Club’s website.
“It wasn’t just because he played well against Blackpool, I had already decided to offer him a new deal before that game.”
“He’s been out the team, sometimes not even making the reserve side, but he’s never once let his head go down or sulked, he’s just got on with his training.”
“This contract takes the pressure off him a little bit and it’s a reward for all his hard work.”
Hyam made 13 appearances for Ipswich last season in his first year as a professional after coming through the Club’s Apprenticeship programme.
This term he has made just 4 appearances for the Tractor Boys but has started their last three matches.
