Notts County youngster Haydn Hollis has joined Blue Square Premier club Barrow on a one-month loan deal.
Hollis came through the club’s youth ranks before signing a professional deal with the Magpies over the summer.
“He comes with a good reputation and one for the future,” joint-boss Dave Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria.
“At 6ft 4in he’s got a physical presence, which is what we need at this level, and we’re delighted.”
Injuries to Phil Bolland and Mike Pearson have left Barrow with limited resources in defence with Adam Quinn currently the only available centre-back at the club.
“They see it as a really big part of his development, they’ve had a couple of offers from League Two teams to go on trial but he needs to play games,” Bayliss continued.
“We’ve got seven big competitive matches in this league so it’ll do the kid a world of good.”
“We’re thankful to Martin Allen and John Schofield at Notts County for giving us the opportunity.”
