Ipswich Town youngster Ed Upson is on Histon’s radar, after representatives from the Blue Square Premier Club were impressed by the youngster while watching Town’s Reserves last week at Wycombe.
The 20 year old scored Town’s goal in the 2-1 loss to the Chairboys, having netted twice the previous week at Southend and a penalty a fortnight ago at Norwich.
After that game, manager Roy Keane said that Upson, who was suffering with glandular fever earlier in the season, needs to “get a move on with his fitness” if he is to win an extension to his contract which is up in the summer.
The Bury St Edmunds-born player, who scored the winner in the 2005 FA Youth Cup final when only 15, previously spent a loan spell with Histon’s league rivals Stevenage Borough during 2008 and has made two senior appearances for the Blues, both as a sub in the Carling Cup earlier this season.
