Hatters Debut for Ryan

Ryan Charles joined Luton Town in the summer of 2006 and has made the step up to the Hatters first team this term.

He has combined his playing and training duties with the educational aspect of the ASE programme and is currently studying for the BTEC qualification at Barnfield College having passed his Level 2 Coaching certificate in Year One of his programme.

Ryan says:

“I have found the education very helpful; it keeps every avenue open in case I don’t have a future in football. College also helps you get away from football life and gives you something new to achieve.”

Ryan is fortunate enough to have recently been offered a professional contract at Luton, and said:

“I made my debut against Southend United which was a big stepping stone for me, but you never know what the future holds that’s why you need these qualifications.”

“One minute you could be on the top of the world and the next it could be all over. At least you have something to fall back on if you complete the LFE programme.”
