LFE is pleased to announce that Southend United’s Ryan Auger is the winner of the December/January 2012 Goal of the Month award.
Auger executed a dipping volley for the Shrimpers in their 2-2 draw against Colchester United at the Garrison ‘B’ Ground in their Football League Youth Alliance South East Conference match.
The former Cambridge United youngster anticpated the ball dropping over his shoulder from 30 yards out before unleashing a brave first time hit into the right-hand side of the goal.
Southend can now boast two triumphs after Jack Payne also topped the poll in October’s Goal of the Month competition after finishing off a well worked passage of play.
The top three Apprentices voted for by the public (and number of votes) were:
