Future’s Bright For Young Dons

MK Dons youngster Adam Chicksen insists that the future is bright at the Club, thanks to the Clubs faith in the current crop of youngsters.

The 18 year old made his full league debut in last month’s 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic before going on to make a further four appearances for the senior side, including arguably his most impressive performance in Saturdays’ goalless draw against Brighton.

He told the Club’s official website:

“We went into the game with a lot of youngsters just like myself but I think, helping them as well, you’ve got to try to rise to the occasion.”

“I’ve had a bit of experience now so helping Chaz (Charlie Collins) and Powelly (Daniel Powell) to come into the team is good. I just told them that you’ve got to play your same game, you can’t change it for the occasion or anything, you’ve got to stick to your game and it will work.”

Young trio Chicksen, Collins and Powell all started against the Seagulls, while 17 year old George Baldock came off the bench for the final nine minutes.

Chicksen added:

“It was good to see them all on the pitch, it’s just something you look forward to, playing with your mates and it was just really good.”
