Four Hope For Euro Glory With England

ASE graduates Declan Rudd (Norwich City), Matt Phillips (Wycombe Wanderers), Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace) and Scott Malone (Wolverhampton Wanderers) have been named in England’s U19 provisional 23-man squad for this summer’s European Championships in France.

The squad is scheduled to meet up for a four-day training camp at Warwick University ahead of the tournament in July.

Rudd, Phillips and Clyne featured during England’s Elite Qualifying Round success in Ukraine last month while Malone has previously made 5 appearances for England’s U19’s.

All four will now be looking to cement their place in Head Coach Noel Blake’s final 18-man squad ahead of the finals which take place between Monday 12th and Saturday 31st July.

England have been drawn in Group A of the competition alongside hosts France, Holland and Austria.

England’s 23-man provisional squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Liam O’Brien (Portsmouth), Declan Rudd (Norwich City), Lee Nicholls (Wigan Athletic).

Defenders: Nathan Baker (Aston Villa), Reece Brown (Manchester United), Steven Caulker (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace), Tom Cruise (Arsenal), Matthew Briggs (Fulham), Phil Jones (Blackburn Rovers), Scott Malone (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Josh Thompson (Celtic).

Midfielders: John Bostock (Tottenham Hotspur), Matthew James (Man Utd), Jason Lowe (Blackburn), Jacob Mellis (Chelsea), Dean Parrett (Spurs), Andros Townsend (Spurs).

Forwards: Nathan Delfouneso (Aston Villa), Ryan Donaldson (Newcastle), Matt Phillips (Wycombe Wanderers), Ryan Noble (Sunderland), Frank Nouble (West Ham United).
