Forest Consider Bid For Bamford

Nottingham Forest are considering a £1.5m bid from Chelsea for teenage striker Patrick Bamford.

Bamford has only played two first-team games but has caught the eye with some superb displays in the FA Youth Cup.

The 18-year-old scored four goals in the last-16 win at Southampton and five in the previous round, but he has rejected two contract offers.

Manager Steve Cotterill told BBC Radio Nottingham: “We need to find out where this one goes.”

Bamford is out of contract at the end of the season and, should he sign for another Club, any fee would be decided by tribunal.

“Patrick’s been offered a couple of contracts now,” Cotterill added. “He’s been training with the first team for the last three months, which I certainly think has helped his play in the youth games.”
