FA Youth Cup 4th Round – Arsenal 0–2 Ipswich Town

FA Youth Cup holders Arsenal are out of the competition after Ipswich Town defeated them 2-0 at Barnet’s Underhill ground on Monday night.

Goals from Ronan Murray and Connor Wickham inside a 60 second first half blitz condemned the holders to defeat.

Murray opened the scoring on 10 minutes when he fired home from 15 yards out and strike partner Wickham repeated the feat with a low drive 60 seconds later.

Wickham could have added a third early in the second-half but fired wide. The Gunners tried in vain to get back in to the match but despite enjoying a lions share of possession they struggled to find a cutting edge to unlock the Town defence.

Town will now face Fulham at Portman Road in the Fifth Round of the competition, the tie is expected to take place in the first week of February.
