Following the success of the first YMCAfit and Fitness First Assessment day held in Chesterfield last November, a second event was hosted in London this week providing another opportunity for fitness industry hopefuls to join one of the most successful and fastest growing industries within the UK.
The programme put in place by YMCAfit, Fitness First and LFE has been designed to offer an alternative or complementary career path for Apprentices who have completed the ASE programme.
The day itself gave Fitness First the opportunity to assess the candidates who attended to ensure they met the necessary criteria for employment as a Gym Instructor.
Candidates were put through their paces in an intensive practical session followed by and introductory session on the fitness industry which gave candidates the chance to demonstrate what they had to offer and why they should be considered for employment.
The successful candidates from both the London and the Chesterfield assessment days will now attend a 10-day intensive course held at the Chesterfield residential facility.
Here they will undertake the Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification delivered by YMCAfit. Final assessments will be completed a month later and as a result March could see a multitude of former ASE students working as qualified fitness instructors.
