Former ASE Apprentice Danny Edwards has signed a one year contract with League Two outfit Port Vale.
The deal represents the 18 year old’s first as a professional and he will be pushing to gain a place in the first team squad next term.
A versatile player able to operate in midfield or at the back, Edwards is looking forward to the challenges which lie ahead.
He told the Club’s official website:
“I am pleased to be making the step up from the youth team and I know I am going to have to work hard in pre-season to prove myself and get into the first-team squad.”
“I know I have a lot of hard work to do, but that is part of football and it won’t come as a shock to me to be doing a lot of running and things we don’t necessarily like doing pre-season – they are things that will help in the long run.”
“I am still young and I am learning the game so training every day with the older, more mature and experienced players will help me to improve, but I realise I will need to work hard at my game and hope to break into the first-team at some stage.”
