Craig Duncan

Craig Duncan

Craig was released by Stockport County in June 2006 and after reviewing his options he managed to secure a position at the banking giant HSBC. They were impressed by his good GCSE grades and his success on the ASE framework where he successfully completed and passed all elements.

Craig has adjusted well to the world of work away from football and believes that his time as an apprentice has equipped him to succeed.

“I’ve discovered that a lot of skills I developed as an apprentice have been transferable to my new job. For example I’ve improved my communication skills as a result of being on the ASE programme and taking courses like the Coaching Certificate.”

“This helps me in my role today as I have the confidence to speak or present information clearly to different groups of people in a number of ways.”
