Norwich City Striker Chris Martin has joined Crystal Palace on loan until 2 January.
The 23-year-old who has come through the youth ranks at Carrow Road started three of City’s first four Premier League games, but has not featured since the defeat by Manchester United in early October.
He will be available to Palace manager Dougie Freedman until the visit of Leicester City in the new year.
“Chris needs to get some games,” Canaries boss Paul Lambert told the clubs website.
“And that’s why I decided it was the right thing to send him out on loan.”
“Palace have made a good start under Dougie Freedman this season, and if he does play it will be at a good competitive level, which is important.”
Martin, who has not scored in his four appearances this season, enjoyed a successful partnership with Grant Holt in the last two seasons as City rose from League One to the Premier League thanks to a double promotion.
The forward hit four goals last term but plundered 17 the year before in his best ever season for the Canaries.
