Byron Czechs In

Having gained a professional contract while at York City, Byron Webster made his debut at the age of 17. However, his first team commitments didn’t get in the way of his education programme and he was able to complete a BTEC National Diploma and the Level 2 Coaching Certificate.

As his time at York City came to an end, he took the opportunity to play for FK Siad Most in the Czech Republic. Having realised his dreams Byron still places great value on the qualifications he gained,

“The education side of my scholarship was a back up in case my football career failed and is still something that could help me once my football career ends.”

“My advice to apprentices is: remember your football career is only short, so make sure you get your qualifications, and anything else that can help you in later life, as soon as possible.”
