Byrne Leaves Bury

Shane Byrne has left Bury by mutual consent. The Irish midfielder’s contract was originally set to expire at the end of this season.

The 20-year-old who came through the youth ranks at Leicester City joined Bury in the summer of 2012 after a successful loan spell at Gigg Lane towards the end of the 2011-12 season.

However, illness and injury restricted Byrne to just four appearances for the Shakers last term, the last of which was against Rochdale in October.
