Bulls Debut For Sam

Sam Corcoran

Colchester United consigned Hereford to relegation from League One after beating them 2 – 0 at Edgar Street with a little bit of help from debutant young midfielder Sam Corcoran.

A week on from severely examining his Clubs Youth policy, U’s boss Paul Lambert brought the 17-year-old off the bench on Saturday for his first-team debut late in the second half.

Lambert told BBC Essex:

“We’ve given him a little glimmer of hope and hopefully he’ll progress.

“He’s on the right road to being a footballer and whatever level he eventually plays at, he’s earned the right to be here.”
