Bradley Reid climbed off the bench to score a quick fire double for Wrexham on Tuesday as the Dragon’s came from a goal down to beat Conference North side Colwyn Bay 2-1.
The 17-year-old striker was brought off the bench with Andy Morrell’s side struggling to get back on to level terms against a resolute Bay side who led through Steve Connor’s first-half strike. But Reid made the difference much to the relief of his admiring boss.
“He’s got everything going for him to do really well in the game,” said Morrell. “I don’t care about age and if he plays like that on the shoulder (of the last defender) no-one is going to catch him.”
“I’m pleased for him because it’s not easy coming in with the first team when you are 17. The stick and the banter is a whole new world to youth-team players.”
“Bradley has struggled a bit in adjusting to first-team football because he’s only 17, but we tell him to relax and enjoy it because it’s just football. When he is like that he is very difficult to catch and I think he’s an unbelievable prospect.”
