Former Southampton Apprentice Ben Martin will join up with Weymouth FC for a trial.
Weymouth Manager Brendan King has invited the defender for a trial as he looks to strengthen squad during pre-season.
The ASE graduate, who is a former team mate of hot property Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, played in LFE’s Assessment Trials last May in a bid to find a new club following his release from Southampton.
King told the Dorset Echo: “Ben was released by Southampton at the end of last season and we are looking forward to taking a look at him.”
“He plays at centre-back and is due to come down and train with us this week with a view to maybe turning out for us in a couple of the friendlies but like with everything at the moment we shall just have to see how things go,” he added.
Brendan King is also on the verge of bringing former Apprentices Nick Jordan and Lewis Tasker to the Bob Lucas Stadium as well as alledged target James Richards who completed his Apprenticeship at Swindon Town before being released this summer.
