Apprentice of the Year Awards 2008/09

The Football League is inviting Clubs to nominate an outstanding Apprentice to be considered for national recognition at the Football League Awards.

One winner will be selected for each division and the winners presented with a trophy at the annual gala dinner taking place in London on Sunday 29th March 2009 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane.

Each Club will be asked to nominate an outstanding Apprentice player, this should be one player only per Club. The player should be in the second year of his Apprenticeship (i.e. be in his Under 18 year and be registered as either a second year scholar or as a first year professional).

In selecting winners the judges will be considering the following criteria:

    • Playing record of the player in all competitions since he became an Apprentice
      * Educational attainment
      * Disciplinary record
      * Any other outstanding achievements

Nomination forms have been distributed to all Football League Clubs. If you have any questions regarding this award please contact Pauline Hothersall, Youth Co-ordinator on 0844 826 9207 or via [email protected].

Entries for the Apprentice of the Year category close on Friday 9th January 2009.
