The Future’s Bright at Sincil Bank

(L-R) LFE's Paul Bartlett | Head of Youth, Tom Spall | Andy Hutchinson | Kern Miller | Nathan Adams | Youth Coach Grant Brown

Despite yesterday’s cull of seven established first teamers and their mid table end of season position, Lincoln City boss Peter Jackson can look forward to next season with the optimism that his first team ranks will be bolstered by current 1st year Apprentices Andrew Hutchinson, Kern Miller, and Nathan Adams.

The youngsters, who this time last year would have been sitting GCSE’s, have all shown promise in recent weeks in an examination arena of another kind, Coca Cola League Division Two.

While defender Kern Miller and forward Nathan Adams have stood up to the test well it is Andrew Hutchinson who has grabbed the spotlight and the plaudits by etching his name into the history books.

The youngster who lives ten minutes down the road from the Club became their youngest ever goal scorer in the Football League when his 47th minute effort capped an outstanding full league debut away at Bradford City in April.

Youth Boss Tom Spall is pleased to see the efforts of the Youth department and the Clubs commitment to their youth policy paying dividends:

“All three have done extremely well this season and I’ve got high hopes for them all as players. The Manager here has been great in recognising when to give them a chance and I think it’s fair to say he’s been impressed with what he’s seen.”

The clubs youth policy received another feather in it’s cap on Saturday when (1st year Apprentice) Luca Coleman-Carr made his debut vs Aldershot Town and Andrew Hutchinson received a special award for his goal scoring exploits at Valley Parade.
