No Away Day Blues For Leeds

Leeds United’s Under 18’s boss Richard Naylor believes his players will benefit from a number of out of area fixtures against the likes of Crystal Palace, Bristol City and Cardiff City over the course of the season.

The Whites went down 2-1 at Millwall just over a week ago and while disappointed by the result Naylor insists that the experience of preparing for games in the same way as the first-team is beneficial in the long run:

“It was a good learning curve for them,” Naylor told ‘We Are Leeds’.

“We didn’t play the football we can play but the trip will be a good experience for them. We trained and travelled down on the Friday, just like the first-team would do it.

“Hopefully in years to come some of these lads will be playing in the first-team and you don’t want to go into that environment with it all completely new to you.

“Getting used to staying in a hotel overnight, eating the right foods and resting before the game is the perfect preparation for them and it stands them in good stead because it’s how the first-team would go about their business and we want to get them to that level,” added Naylor.
