Jamie White Signs for Salisbury City

Blue Square South outfit Salisbury City have confirmed that they have signed prolific goal-scorer Jamie White from Evo-Stik League Division One South new boys Winchester City.

The 22-year-old started his career at Southampton and was their Academy Player of the Year in 2007.

He made his first-team debut against Derby County in August 2008 and was loaned to Shrewsbury Town later that season.

He made 10 appearances for the Shrews before returning to the Saints. However he broke his leg and dislocated his ankle in a Reserve team match and later joined Eastleigh on loan before being released by Southampton in the summer of 2010.

He left Eastleigh to join Winchester, and in 2011-12 missed beating Andy Forbes’ fifty-five-goal league record by just one goal.

Salisbury Manager Darrell Clarke confirmed: “Jamie has naturally been the target of many clubs, and I am absolutely delighted that we have beaten off the competition and he has committed to us. We are delighted to have him on board.”

“This close season has been a difficult one in relation to signings but I am aware that we need to strengthen further.”
