Town Duo Head Out On Loan

Chesterfield have brought in Huddersfield Town teenager Jack Hunt on loan until January.

Hunt, who can play at right-back or in midfield, has featured in three pre-season friendlies for Chesterfield and will now stay with the Spireites for the first half of the season.

The 19 year old signed his first professional contract last year after completing his Apprenticeship and Town boss Lee Clark feels Hunt will benefit from the move.

“Getting the young professionals out on loan is something I’ve always wanted to do, they need to be out playing at a good level where winning matters,” Clark told the Club’s official website.

“Jack has a lot of good attributes; he’s quick and he’s a good athlete. He knows we think we can improve his defensive side and that will come along with the responsibility he will have at Chesterfield.”

“I know the people there and I know he will receive good coaching and be treated in the right way. They have a fantastic new stadium too.”

Town are also sending Hunt’s team-mate Leigh Franks out on loan. The young defender is heading to Oxford United until January and hopes regular first-team action will aid his development.

He said:

“Hopefully I can get a bit of experience under my belt. I haven’t been getting in the team at Huddersfield and they have signed a few centre-halves over the summer so this is the ideal chance to get out and try to play a few games.”
