Town Offer Trio New Deals

Huddersfield Town have offered three of their first year professionals new contracts.

Left-back Liam Ridehalgh, 18, centre-half Leigh Franks, 18, and right-sided defender/midfielder Jack Hunt, 19, all came through the Clubs’ Apprenticeship programme last summer to sign one year deals with the Terriers.

Town Manager Lee Clark has now tied down their services for another year and believes that the trio have come along nicely.

Speaking to the Club’s website, Clark said:

“They have progressed well and deserve an opportunity to make an impression on the first-team squad. But they have to be in there fighting for a place in the squad next season.”

He added: “They have had their settling-in period and shown they can compete with first-team lads. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than the three of them being involved in the team.”

The trio are yet to make their first-team debuts although Hunt has been an unused substitute on three occasions and had a two-month loan spell at Grays Athletic while Franks has been on loan at Fleetwood Town.

However, midfielder Lewis Nightingale, 19, has not been offered an extended deal.
