Youngsters Star In Trophy Clash

Accrington Stanley and Shrewsbury Town fielded a number of ex Apprentices for Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash.

Stanley included four former Apprentices in the starting eleven and three on the bench.

Billy Kee, Robert Grant, Peter Murphy, Tom Lees and Luke Joyce all featured in the game, with Billy Kee substituted by Luke Joyce in the 90th minute. Chris Turner and Zak Riley were unused subs.

Andre Gray & Harry Hooman

Shrewsbury gave starts to Harry Hooman and Joss Labadie, with Andre Gray coming on for Kris Bright on 57 minutes and current 2nd-year Apprentice Will Richards (Shrewsbury) replacing Joss Labadie.
