Williams Pens First Pro Deal

Young defender Johnathan Williams has penned his first professional deal with Scunthorpe United.

The 18 year old, whose two-year spell as an Apprentice ended this month, has signed a one-year contract with the Club.

The Sheffield-born right-back has impressed for the Youth team and Reserves over the past two seasons and is also capable of performing in a midfield role.

Youth Development Officer Tony Daws told the Club’s official website:

“Technically, Johno is a good player and he has shown steady improvement over his Apprenticeship. He is versatile and can play in numerous positions.”

Williams was the only second year Apprentice to be offered professional terms.
