The Wales U21 international was in the Palace side that thrashed Middlesbrough 4-1 at the weekend and he admitted that he automatic promotion is still the aim.

“We’re in a really good position at the moment and we’re hoping we can push up and nick second spot,” continued Williams whose Palace side sit in the play-off positions.

“I was at the play-off final in 2004 as an Academy player and when we won it was just unbelievable to think of being part of something like that would be mind-blowing.”

“The play-off’s look special when you see them on TV but I’d rather have less stress and go straight up.”
