Watford’s successful pre-season tour will be featured in the club’s programme for this Saturday’s home fixture against Crystal Palace.
The Hornet’s youth team were captured on camera showing off the trophy they won as LFE’s Invitational Tournament winners during their pre-season tour of Holland before their first-team took on Nottingham Forest earlier this season.
It gave the youngsters a chance to take to the Vicarage Road pitch to parade the cup in front of their home fans.
The players who were joined on the tour by fellow Football League Clubs, Scunthorpe Utd, Walsall and Wycombe Wanderers were in Holland for two weeks between 25 July and August 6.
In that time they enjoyed wins over Scunthorpe Utd (2-0), ADO Den Haag (2-0), SVV (8-0) before winning a closely fought final against Walsall 2-1.
“The players got a great reception on the day by both our home fans and the Notts Forest fans which was no more than they deserved for their efforts on tour,” said Academy Manager Nick Cox.
