Tranmere winger Joe Thompson insists that he has turned a corner at Prenton Park after scoring twice in the 3-3 draw with Crawley on Saturday.
After a mixed first year on the Wirral the youngster feels that he has recaptured his form after a good pre-season.
“Confidence is a massive factor for me,” said Thompson. “The pre-season I’ve had has given me a lot of confidence.”
“I laugh and joke about it, but all I want is a bit of love. If you give me the love, I’ll give you what I’ve got.”
“The key is not to get carried away and keep doing the basics right. Then, hopefully, it will all come together.”
“If we can’t get players to do it, we’ll have to get some players in on loan who can do it”
Thompson joined Tranmere from Rochdale in the summer of 2012 and but injuries and a loss of form saw him loaned back to his former club.
He was an unused substitute in Tranmere’s opening day defeat at Walsall but started the League Cup victory over Mansfield last week and kept his place on Saturday.
