Last Season’s Goal of the Season winner Charlie Taylor helped Leeds to avoid their worst start to a season for more than thirty years at the weekend as they beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at Elland Road.
Taylor, making his first start for the club will have done his claims for a regular place in Simon Grayson’s team no harm, after he contributed to two Leeds goals.
The first had a touch of David Beckham about it as he whipped in a perfectly curled cross that Ross McCormack headed in from close range.
Palace then took charge inspired by two former Apprentices Wilf Zaha and Sean Scannell. The latter putting the Eagles ahead on 21 minutes after Paddy McCarthy had grabbed an equaliser.
Leeds were not to be denied however with Luciano Becchio heading home a McCormack free kick after Taylor had been on the receiving end of an unfair Zaha challenge.
McCormack rounded off the scoring with little over five minutes remaining, collecting Mikael Forsell’s header and firing home from ten yards out.
