Walsall youngster Richard Taundry put in another solid display on Saturday as the Saddlers took all three points from their match against in-form Hartlepool.
A product of the Club’s Youth system, Taundry has had an impressive season at the Banks’ Stadium and on Saturday his display not only earned him the Man of the Match award against Hartlepool United but also another goal as he made it three for the season.
The local lad has been in impressive form recently and is enjoying playing alongside Matt Richards in the heart of the team.
“Both Matt and I like to get on the ball and be involved in the thick of the action,” he said. “With Matt being a natural left-footer it certainly helps the balance and it is easy to play alongside him.”
“Saturday’s victory over Hartlepool was a great game to play in and gave us a vital three points as we look to finish as high up the table as possible.”
“We’ve put in some good performances recently; we know that we are capable of getting results, it’s just been a matter of consistency.”
Having scored his first-ever senior goal for the Club in February, Taundry now has three strikes to his name.
“It was a great feeling to score another goal,” he added. “The build-up play was excellent and it was massive for the team to secure maximum points.”
