Strides Forward For Swindon Starlets

League Two outfit Swindon Town are shaping up with a new look this season under Manager Paolo Di Canio and it appears he is not overlooking the club’s up and coming youth players.

Second year Apprentice Miles Storey has been deployed from the subsitutes bench in the Robins’ last two league games, wins against Southend United and Crawley Town respectively. Di Canio watched on as Storey had a big hand in the second and third goals of a 3-0 scoreline against Southend.

Away from the County Ground, first year Apprentices Aaron Oakley and Conor Thompson have picked up their latest international caps for Wales U19’s.

Defender Oakley played 120 minutes across two games against Bulgaria in which the Dragons were first on the wrongside of a 2-1 scoreline followed by the rightside of the same score in the second match.

Whereas goalkeeper Thompson played the full 90 minutes against Switzerland in a 1-0 win.
