Stockport County’s Kyle Brownhill Joins Clarets

Stockport County’s teenage full-back Kyle Brownhill has signed a one-year deal at Burnley and will join the Championship club’s development squad.

Brownhill, who was an Apprentice at Edgeley Park last year, has been on trial at Turf Moor during pre-season.

The 18-year-old made five appearances in total for the Hatters including three last season during County’s Christmas and New Year fixture programme.

“Stockport seems to be a good breeding ground for young talent,” Development Squad boss Simon Weatherstone told the club website.

“Danny Whitehead departed for West Ham and now Kyle has signed on here. Hopefully he can progress into the first-team in years to come.”
