Skarz Signs On For Shrews

Former League One Apprentice of the Year, Joe Skarz has signed for Shrewsbury Town on loan until the end of the season as Manager Paul Simpson looks to reinforce his depleted ranks.

With central defender Graham Coughlan injured Simpson has brought in Skarz from Huddersfield Town to cover, with full-back Shane Cansdell-Sherriff able to slot into the heart of Town’s defence

Skarz is expected to make his home debut in today’s clash against fellow promotion hopefuls Dagenham.

Speaking to the Club website, Simpson said:

“He is a recognised left-back and has played over 60 games at a higher level and will be a good addition to the squad.”

“The thing that pleased with me with Joe is that he had options to go elsewhere, including a League One club, but he said no and jumped at the opportunity to come here.”

“That is the enthusiasm and determination I want from players who want to come to this club and hopefully we will get some more.”
