Sir Alex Hands Trial To Lonsdale

Former Apprentice Max Lonsdale has been handed a trial at Premier League giants Manchester United.

He completed his Apprenticeship at Macclesfield Town this summer but was not rewarded with a professional contract.

In a bid to find a professional deal elsewhere, he created a fifteen minute video consisting of clips of him in action.

Lonsdale, who played in LFE’s Assessment Trials in May, sent one of his DVD’s to Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sir Alex handed the footage over to his reserve team manager, who was impressed enough with what he saw to invite Lonsdale to the Red Devils for a week-long trial.

His trial has since been extended to two weeks and has seen him feature for Manchester United reserves twice – he will now be waiting find out if he has secured not only a contract but a dream come true.
