Sampson Believes Jacobs Has Talent

Northampton Town boss Ian Sampson believes that Michael Jacobs has the ability to play first team football this season, adding to his two games last term.

The 18 year old midfielder signed a professional contract at Sixfields in April, having impressed for the title-chasing Youth team.

Speaking to BBC Radio Northampton, Sampson said:

“He has got talent and he’s good with the ball. He’ll be around the first 11. If they’re good enough, it doesn’t matter what age they are.”

He added: “He gets a little bit sloppy when he thinks he can beat everyone, but we’re not going to knock that out of him.”
