Evo-Stik League Northern Premier side Woodley Sports has announced the signing of ex-Bury defender, Ricky Anane.
Anane joins the club from Blue Square North outfit Droylesden, and is delighted with the move. “As soon as I heard Matt Broadhead and Paul Ogden had been appointed managers here at Woodley, I made it clear I wanted to come here.”
A delighted Broadhead said: “The capture of Ricky Anane is quite simply an outstanding piece of business by the club.”
“Ricky is capable of playing at a much higher level, he has everything, pace, ability and a great footballing brain.”
“There were a number of clubs in for Ricky, and both Paul & myself are absolutely made up he’s agreed to sign here.”
The Stockport based side have also brought in youngster Darren Stephenson on loan from npower League Two side Bradford City.
Stephenson is a first year professional at Valley parade who was originally handed a six month deal at the end of his Apprenticeship. The club has since extended his contract until the end of this season.
