Oxford United have confirmed that Southend United forward Matt Paterson will join the club on trial this summer.
Paterson who has been capped by Scotland at youth levels was an Apprentice at Southampton.
He joined Southend last season and made 31 appearances for the Shrimpers scoring 6 goals – half his appearances for Southend came from the bench.
He also enjoyed a spell at Stockport scoring 3 times from 9 starts but was unable to help them avoid relegation from League Two into the Blue Square Premier.
The 21-year-old striker will meet up with the U’s squad next week ahead of their pre-season tour of America.
