Les Parry paid tribute to Tranmere Rovers coaches Shaun Garnett and Wayne Allison after being appointed Manager until the end of the season.
Allison, an ex Rovers player was a supporter of LFE’s Progression programme in 2008, while Garnett (pictured), has in his role of Head of Youth, worked heavily with LFE in the delivery of the Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence.
However, for now both will be doing their utmost to preserve Tranmere’s League One status under boss Les Parry.
Speaking to the Club’s official website, Parry said:
“The Chairman phoned me yesterday morning and said he’d like to see me at lunch time. I had an idea it was either someone coming in or that they wanted me to do it until the end of the season. We had a chat and he offered it to me.”
“It’s massive for me to have Shaun and Wayne here. Not just because they’ve played for the Club, but because of their coaching skills and their commitment to what they’re doing. Both of them have given everything since they joined me ten weeks ago.”
“I don’t kid myself for one minute that if they hadn’t been with me I’d have been offered the job, because I wouldn’t have. We’ve worked together. I direct things in the way I want us to go but they do all the hard work.”
