Preston North End’s Dominic Collins and Adam Barton, both 18, have joined Blue Square Premier side Crawley Town on a month-long loan.
The highly rated former Apprentices both signed two-and-a-half year contracts with PNE last season and Manager Alan Irvine says this is an opportunity for them to gain some valuable first team experience.
“They will join Crawley until midnight on 29th September and that period includes eight games for them,” said Irvine. “It is the chance to play ‘man’s football’ where winning the game is important.”
“They have played Reserve football, but that is just like Youth football and winning the games is not vital, but this will give them an education and will be good experience for them both.”
Reds boss Steve Evans added:
“I am grateful to Alan Irvine. I have known him many years, he is a great judge of a player and he rates both lads highly.”
“They both had interest from other Clubs who wanted to take them on loan so for Alan to decide they should join us is great.”
