Mitchell Nelson is aiming to help Tooting & Mitcham bring the FA Cup glory days back to the Club.
The teenage defender, who has impressed this term after being released by Colchester United, hopes that the non-league minnows can cause an upset at Stockport County tomorrow to reach the second round of the competition for the first time in over 30 years.
Tooting have already played five matches to reach this stage of the competition having seen off Horsham, Canvey Island, Slough and Eastbourne Borough after a replay but Nelson is keen to see that run continue.
“Obviously we go into the game as underdogs but we have a lot of good players here and if everything goes ok on the day you never know,” he said.
“It’ll be a new experience for me and a lot of the players but as a player it is a fantastic chance to show people what you can do at a higher level. Hopefully we can grasp that and give Stockport a tough game.”
