Murphy’s Magic Resembles Thierry Henry

Former Reading Apprentice James Murphy has hit the headlines on the other side of the Atlantic after producing a moment of magic that was reminiscent of Thierry Henry in his pomp.

Murphy, whose move to the States was engineered by LFE just over 12 months ago, is currently studying at the University of Michigan and clearly enjoying his football if this stunning strike (shown below), is anything to go by.

The goal which gave the Wolverines a 1-0 win over rivals Ohio State University last Sunday has already attracted over two-hundred thousand views on YouTube and is likely to have alerted MLS clubs of his potential.

“It’s been a year since we placed James at Michigan,” said LFE’s Alumni Liaison Officer Simon Williams.

“Deciding to go was a big decision for him so it’s fantastic to see him receive such attention after a scoring what can only be described as a sensational goal.”

“These moments of achievement demonstrate how our apprentices can flourish in the USA both on and off the pitch.” added Williams
