Mekki Stuns Stoke City

Aldershot’s Adam Mekki stunned Stoke City on Saturday with a late goal to give Aldershot a 1-0 win in the pre-season friendly.

The former LFE Blogger fired home from the edge of the box to see off Tony Pulis’ side.

Mekki who has just completed his two year Apprenticeship will have enjoyed mixing it against the Premier League big boys who included Jonathan Woodgate, Thomas Sorensen, Salif Diao, Robert Huth and Marc Wilson in their ranks.

Ryan Shotton came closest for the Potters crashing a shot against a post in the first half, but League Two Aldershot were also denied by the woodwork when Michael Rankine hit the upright.
