Watford youngster Gavin Massey believes that he would not get a better opportunity anywhere else to make the grade.
The 18-year-old forward signed professional terms at Vicarage Road last year whilst he was still in the first year of his Apprenticeship. Last season he made four appearances for the Hornets off the bench and he believes his current club is the perfect place to develop as a youngster.
In recent season’s Watford have blooded a number of young players in the Championship including Lee Hodson, Matty Whichelow, Marvin Sordell and Adam Thompson.
“Lots of young players are coming through here at Watford,” Massey told the club’s website.
“You would never get an opportunity like this at anywhere else in the Championship.”
He added: “I’m hoping to impress this pre-season – overall this season I would like to stack up a few more appearances and be more involved with the first-team each week.”
“This pre-season I started training with the first-team squad from day one and I know where I’m going to be.”
“I feel more comfortable around the players and the more I train with them the more familiar training will then become.”
