Man of the Match!

On Saturday we played Forssa BK who were in the bottom four but played very well against us earlier in the season and caused us quite a few problems defensively. However, we had Oscar back in the team who has scored countless goals for us and give us more options offensively.

We started the game well and fortunately were awarded a penalty after about 20 minutes for a foul on Oscar as he made a darting run into the box. After the referee spoke to his linesman he decided to send off the player who committed the foul leaving Forssa with 10 men and more than 60 minutes to play.

Shortly after we scored another goal and were growing in confidence gradually. The message from the Manager at half-time was to just keep going and not make any silly mistakes at the back.

The second half started and 10 minutes after the break Forssa had another man sent off for a second bookable offence and the game looked to be over. However, we went through a period in the second half of being inpatient, rushing everything and wanting to score as many goals as we could.

Thankfully we scored a third and fourth goal to seal the game, and we could afford to make substitution so people are fully rested for our last four games. The game finished 5-0 and I was awarded Man of the Match, all in all it was a very good day.

Yesterday the Manager said that instead of normal training he wanted us to go to a swimming pool in the nearby town of Frensta for a recovery session. It was a chance for our muscles to fully recover from our game on Saturday, which was much needed because we have four big games coming up in the count down to the end of the season.

On Wednesday one of the board members called Fredy has offered to take us to a local driving range, which I think we’re all looking forward to as it’ll be a change from our usual routine. We’ve been meaning to go for a few weeks now but other things kept coming up meaning we couldn’t go.
