Lincoln Kick Off Coaching Qualification at Local School

Lincoln City’s first year apprentices kicked-off their Level 2 Coaching qualification at North Kesteven School in Lincoln last week.

Under the guidance of tutors Brian Borrows and Chris Fairclough (The Professional Footballers’ Association) the youngsters started the qualification, which will form part of their apprenticeship programme, by working with Year 7 pupils at the local school.

Head of PE at North Kesteven, Gary Walters was delighted by the link up, while Academy manager Damian Froggatt believes the apprentices also benefit from the experience.

He said, “Its not only about the boys learning about the coaching process, but also about developing their social and communication skills, often outside their comfort zone.”

“They are role models in the community whenever they wear the club crest and its fantastic to see them developing their personal skills in this way.”
