Jones Denies United Bid For Matthews

Cardiff City Manager Dave Jones has dismissed reports linking teenage starlet Adam Matthews with a move to Manchester United.

Speaking after The Sun newspaper had reported that Manchester United are willing to pay £5m to lure the young defender to Old Trafford, Jones said:

“Sometimes I think you [the Press] are bored and just pluck out a name and put it down and start writing it. We’ve had no enquiries and no offers. We had the same situation with Aaron Ramsey.”

“We think it’s quite good that players are getting spoken about at this Football Club because it means they must be doing something right and they must be doing well as players themselves.”
