Job Opportunity: LFE Communications Officer

Job Opportunity: LFE Communications Officer

Communications Officer – Preston based (full-time, permanent)

League Football Education (LFE) is looking for a Communications Officer, who can create and deliver effective Communications and PR messages to its learners, other key stakeholders and staff.

LFE was established in 2004 by The English Football League (EFL) and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) to manage the education of 16 to 18-year-old apprentice footballers at EFL clubs. LFE coordinates the programme, working with apprentices, clubs, colleges and PFA coaches to ensure the delivery of an effective programme.

LFE works with apprentices, clubs, colleges and PFA coaches to provide an effective programme, with responsibilities extending to the delivery of life skills to U9-U23 players, club staff, parents and carers.

LFE’s Life Skills programme covers emotional well-being, equality & diversity, finance, cardiac and sexual health awareness, social media, talent transfer, resilience, personal development and lifestyle and education on key subjects such as gambling, alcohol and drugs.

Support is also provided after the completion of the apprenticeship, including tracking and monitoring of all past apprentices, assessment trials to try to help out of contract players gain a club, assistance in securing USA Soccer Scholarships or University places and European links with clubs in Spain and Sweden.

In partnership with The EFL and EFL Trust, LFE also delivers a CT Study Programme, offering 16 to 18-year-old (male and female) learners the opportunity to study sport-related qualifications, while representing their club at football or futsal.

As the Communications Officer, you will contribute to the overall Communications and PR strategy, going on to implement an annual Communications and PR Plan through coordinated, relevant, engaging and high-quality resources across a range of print and digital media platforms.

This role requires engagement with staff across LFE and key stakeholders, as well as management of partner agencies.

Educated to A-Level (or equivalent Level 3 qualification) as a minimum, you will be committed to telling the broader stories of the learner experiences, have a keen eye for detail, be creative, well organised and able to deliver against tight deadlines.

For further information, please download the job description and person specification.

To apply, please send a CV and a covering letter in support of your application to Daniel Jolley at [email protected]

Closing date: Noon on Monday 23rd August 2021.
