Jennings Bayern Bid Confirmed & Cresswell Could Also Exit

Tranmere Rovers Manager Les Parry has confirmed that the League One club have received a bid from Bayern Munich for 18-year-old wide-man Dale Jennings.

The bid is believed to be in the region of £500,000 with add-ons to follow based on appearances and a cut of any future sale.

Jennings who scored scored six goals in 32 games for Rovers last term has been of interest to the four-time European Cup Winners since March.

“It’s not just paper talk, they have put a bid in,” Parry told the club’s website.

“I’m not too sure how close it is but it’s moving along. They’re keen to get him over there and it’s a great move.”

“Like with all transfer deals, they say they’ll give us a penny and we say we want three and then we’ll fight over the difference and that’s where it’s at, at the moment.”

The youngster who joined Rovers as a 15 year-old is thought to be keen on a move to the German giants.

“I’ve spoken to him and he’s interested – who wouldn’t be?”, added Parry.

“If you look back at the number of young players who have had the chance to go abroad to one of the giants of Europe, there’s very few English players who have done that.”

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for him.”

Meanwhile Parry also revealed that the club has turned down an offer for fellow youth graduate Aaron Cresswell from an unnamed Championship club.

“I spoke to Aaron yesterday and we’ve had a bid from a Championship club which we’ve turned down,” said Parry.

“It was way lower than we expect for him.”

“We’re expecting everyone including Dale and Cresser to turn up on Wednesday 29th [for pre-season training] because they’ve got a contractual obligation to us. Until they go they’re still ours.”
