Midfielder Jenkinson, featured in the first of LFE’s four Assessment Trials on Thursday evening, held on familiar territory, at Valley Parade.

He said: “Personally I’d always like to stay in football even if it’s non-league. It’s something I’d always want to do.”

“I’ve seen it (American scholarship opportunities) and have spoken about it, it looks class and it’s a big thing moving away from where you live.”

“I know a lot of people are doing it and it’s something I’d definitely look at.”
